The North Cascades Institute 2008 Catalog is amazing! Bright, fresh, well designed but not over designed. It made me want to pick it up and take it home - exactly what you intended.

Thanks for inspiring me to do better!

Friends and buddies,
About an hour ago I got up and made my own coffee for the first time in 11 days. A simple joy. I'm not really rested yet, but my body was ready to get up and join the daylight. I slowly turned and read my way through the new catalog and think the tradition and content just keeps getting better and better. I love all the different aspects of collaboration that shine through it, and feel like it really says and shows a lot of who I think we at NCI are.

For all your hard work and overtime hours you have created an irresistible invitation to the reader and I expect to have tough competition to get into the classes I have circled on my copy.

Well Done!
I honor you and all the others who made on paper something that tells and shows so well who we are.
Now I am just as excited to be home and near The Mountain as I was yesterday to be in Costa Rica.

Please share my thoughts with the designer too.

North Cascades Institute 2007 Spring Catalog

I just talked to a woman who taught art for many years in the Bellingham School District, was a member of the Arts Commission, and is now in the catalog design business in New York. She praised our catalog effusively - the illustrations, the layout, how easy it is to read, on and on.

  • A Place Where I Thrive

I’ve been an AIGA member since I moved to Raleigh in 2009, and in that time I have gained so much through what I have given to the chapter. As a chapter, our mission is to create a place where design thrives. What I found through my involvement with AIGA Raleigh is a place where I thrive, too.

  • Mommy in a Designer's World

As a mother of two and a full-time art director at Savage, I regularly battle the ups and downs of being a mom in a designer’s world. Although it can be overwhelming at times, it can also be highly rewarding. As everyone handles the balance in their own way, I’ve assembled some thoughts and advice for creative working mothers.
